Introducing Keeny Peach!

A little over two months ago, I wrote THIS post about a new blog idea that was in the very early stages of being created. At that point, this idea was just that; an idea.  Now, 6 months later, I'm finally launching my new blog, Keeny Peach. A website that you can go to if you want to read about cool things that just so happen to be vegan.

What is Keeny Peach?
If you were a fan of my vegan product/recipe posts on this blog, you won't be disappointed with the new one. In fact, you might even like the new posts more. You'll find all the specifics over on keenypeach.com

When will you post?
Every Wednesday at 12:00 pm EST... but there may be an extra surprise post once in a while :-)

Does Keeny Peach have an Instagram/Twitter?
At this point I only have my personal Instagram and Twitter accounts that will be keeping you all updated with Keeny Peach

I'll be extremely active on all social media sites throughout the launch of Keeny Peach so be sure to give me a follow on Twitter  and Instagram. If you are a business looking for contact information, email me at keenypeachsarah@gmail.com

I'm extremely proud to be moving forward with this new and more professional blog and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did creating it!

New Blog?

I haven't been catering my time to this blog lately and for those of you who enjoy the things I post, I'm sorry for leaving this blog for the past few months without any explanation. Get ready for a long explanation... I'd suggest getting a cup of tea and maybe some (vegan) chocolate chip cookies; it's that type of post!

Around November, I decided I wanted to start a new blog. Little did I know, creating a new professional blog came with lots of time and many, many head aches. After initially deciding I wanted to start a new blog, it took me three months to actually think of a decent blog name. Finally, after thinking of a blog name, I had to add up all the expenses that came with this new website (domains, themes, hosting, and all the other tech/web words in the dictionary). I don't have a lot of money reserved for blogging and I'm not someone who typically likes working with other people, so hiring someone to do all that for me was not an option. Also, this is still just a hobby so I don't want to invest lots of money into this new blog, especially since I'm not even sure it will work out.

I'm now 4 months into creating this new blog and I'm still not ready to launch it, which is incredibly frustrating. If any of you reading this know of any good Wordpress Template/Theme creators that aren't ridiculously expansive, please be sure to let me know in the comments! You would save me more headaches in the future! :-)

For the future of this blog I think I might continue to post thoughtful/rambling posts. I'm definitely not deleting it, if that's what any of you were thinking. I worked way too hard and gained lots of blog friends (followers) from this spot on the internet, I can't get rid of it. Plus, I feel like the past 3 years of my life have been documented here. I like having places I can go to look back at different moments in my life. A little internet scrap book.

While we all wait for the shiny new blog, follow me on Twitter and Instagram. I'll be sure to post on Twitter, Instagram, and this blog when the new blog is live!

xo, Sarah Holt

ps
Happy Valentine's Day! Sorry for the lack of romance and flowers in this post. I'll try harder next time.

Vegan & Cruelty-Free Morning Routine

My morning routine is a big part of my day. I follow this entire routine almost exactly the same each morning in a true zombie trance. Most days, I can't even properly talk to anyone until after my morning routine is completed, it's that bad.

As soon as I wake up in the morning, I have to brush my teeth. Usually, this step wouldn't be included in a "morning routine" post, but I wanted to talk about this new vegan and cruelty-free toothpaste I've been using. It's by the brand Hello (Adele approved... not really but, as you can all tell, I think I'm hilarious) and it's by far the best vegan toothpaste I've tried so far. This brand also has mouthwash, toothbrushes, and breath sprays that are all vegan and cruelty-free which excites me a whole lot.

After I brush my teeth, I either wash my face with my Pacifica face wash or moisturize with my favorite Just the Goods moisturizer, or I do both, it really just depends on how my skin is feeling that morning. If my face is a bit spotty, this is when I apply my Fanciful Fox Spot Check. I swear by this product, it's that good. I'm pretty sure I mentioned these exact products in a skincare routine I posted sometime last year, which says a lot. This part of my morning routine has stood the test of time.

Now that my face is feeling nice and refreshed, I then eat breakfast. Lately, I've been loving this peanut butter flavored cereal from a brand called Puffins. It's honestly just like jumbo sized Captain Crunch (without the painful mouth sores after eating) with only 9 ingredients, which is very rare in cereals. I pair the cereal with some almond milk and I'm good to go.

With my belly full, I usually check my social medias. I really don't have a set time to do this, I honestly just do it whenever, but this is when I typically crawl back into bed and scroll through Instagram and Twitter for a while. I'm not the only one who does this, am I?

If I'm doing something that involves going out in public or actually socializing with people outside of my family, this is when I would do my makeup and hair. Sadly, I haven't discovered any amazing vegan and cruelty-free hair care products worth mentioning, so if you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments!
I never go all out on my makeup during the day. I usually use a bit of concealer under my eyes and on any spots that magically appeared overnight. I then fill my eyebrows in with the Milani Eyebrow Kit. I've also mentioned this product lots before, but it's a favorite of mine and I haven't had a reason to replace it. Now that my eyebrows are nice and filled in, I'm onto my eyes. Mascara is a must. I have been absolutely obsessed with the Tarte Gifted mascara. It's honestly the best mascara I've used, even before switching to all vegan and cruelty-free products.

Though I almost forgot to mention this important part of my morning routine, the last thing I tend to do while getting ready in the morning is get dressed. I usually put on my jeans with my right leg first (100% joking. Seemed fitting since I went into great detail throughout the rest of the post. Please don't take me too seriously).
Finally, the absolute last thing I apply while getting ready is perfume. I usually forget this step and realize only after I left the house... kind of like how I almost forgot to add this step to the routine. The Tahitian Gardenia scent from Pacifica is my favorite scent at the moment. I'm obsessed with it.

And that's my morning routine done!
